This year, good or bad, seems to be flying by faster than any other for me. What about you? Somebody even posted a picture this week with Christmas decorations from a store… oh my.
I hope you are poised this weekend for relaxation, family time and regrouping for yourself if needed. No doubt you have had some elevated stress from the COVID situation and may even still have extra stress.
Today’s post is a simple reminder to take a break. We all need to unplug, no matter what. It may seem like you can’t or shouldn’t unplug and recharge but think about this, if you stay the course with your head down, high stress, low sleep, minimal nutrition, spotty workouts at best, you are heading for burn out!
When you take a break, you give yourself a mental and physical opportunity to recharge and prepare for whatever life battles you face this week and month. To do this you actually have to give yourself permission to relax. Say it out loud or in your head. “It’s ok for me to take a break and recharge. It’s healthy for me to take a break”. You get the idea.
Once you give yourself permission, plan some YOU time for getting outside, taking a nap, hanging with your family, or sitting and watching a movie. We are setting up in the backyard for family movie night to relax and be together. Getting unplugged before the next week of challenges.
