One of the biggest mistakes I see people make with their health and fitness is getting stuck in consumption mode. Watching another webinar. Scrolling through Instagram for more exercise videos. Seeking motivation from external sources, instead of from within or the people already in your network.
I’m guilty of this myself. When I get stuck with my business and feel I’m losing momentum, sometimes I’ll tend to watch more videos, read more blog posts, get seduced by more Facebook ads.
Instead of just doing the things that I know will help my business grow and, in turn, allow me to help more people.
And December is notorious for preying on the easily distracted. — Too many shiny objects.
Just look at your Facebook feed or inbox and see all the things people are trying to sell you.
Here are a few tips:
1- You don’t need another gadget or gizmo.
2 – You don’t need any new exercises or the newest fad diet.
3 – You don’t need to consume another promotional video from the latest fitness guru who may be Instagram-famous but hasn’t actually helped anyone achieve the goals you’re looking to achieve.
What will support and serve you the best in action?
Put these into play when you feel yourself falling into a black hole:
1 -A 10-minute workout.
2 -A meal with plenty of vegetables.
3 -A couple of hours of meal prep on Sunday so your nutrition decisions become easier during the week.
4 – Healthy cooking with your family
So, if you’re feeling a little stuck (like most of us do during the holiday season), don’t go down the rabbit hole and get consumed by consumption mode.
Remember, if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging.
You already have everything you need to get started with an effective fitness plan or get back into one if you’ve fallen off track.
Take action. Be a “do-er”.
Leave the consumption and distractions to someone else – – You got this.
