This past weekend was Thanksgiving here in the States, and I hope that you had as delicious a feast as I did.
Yep, I ate too much. And nope, I’m not going to beat myself up about it.
I’m also not going to let Thanksgiving turn into a two-week holiday. It’s OK to celebrate and indulge, but today is a day to refocus and realign my behaviors with my goals. One thing that can, and should, continue after the holiday is being thankful.
It’s been such a rough time over the past year and a half, and some people are having more difficulty reacclimating to an open society than others. Just look at all the news reports of passengers raging on airlines, and talk to anyone in the service industry about how rude some of their customers have become.
People are more stressed-out than ever.
Here is one huge thing that could help. Just a little gratitude throughout your day, every day.
Here are 4 ways to help you start.
- Be thankful for what you have, not envious of what others have.
- Be where your footprints are. In other words, be present not distracted with where you’re going next.
- Be kind to yourself. Prioritize self-care.
- Think before you speak or take action. Impulse doesn’t serve us most of the time.
Let’s take the spirit of Thanksgiving and carry it forward with us for the rest of 2021 and beyond.
OK, I’ll start … Thank you for reading my post! It really means a lot to me and I hope you find it helpful 🙂
