How many times in every day do you say “I am”?
Today I wanted to share the depth and power of these two small words with you. Consider this:
“I Am: Two of the most powerful words; for what you put after them shapes your reality.” – Gary Hensel
Think about it. Do you often find yourself saying things like:
- I am tired
- I am busy
- I am overwhelmed
- I am lazy
- I am not motivated
- I am overworked
- I am afraid
- I am not smart enough
- I am incapable
Well, what sort of reality do you think that’s going to create? Your brain is a goal-achieving machine and it operates off of the “programming” that is installed by the very things we say to ourselves.
What’s playing in the background for you?
What’s your brain programmed to achieve?
Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” What’s coming for you? If you don’t like what you see, I strongly suggest you start paying attention to your I AM statements and start adopting some new ones.
The ‘I AM’ statement is actually the cornerstone of IMpowered Fitness. (the IM is IMpowered is an I AM statement) – We consider it our state of being and our state of becoming.
- I Am Strong
- I Am grateful
- I Am making a difference
- I Am helping improve other peoples lives
- I Am significant in my life
- I Am a Survivor!
- I Am Ok today
- I Am….
That’s actually why one of the components of our coaching is coming up with your overarching I AM statement (who you want to BE) and writing it down every day. Put it on sticky notes around your house, in your car, in your office. See it everywhere as a reminder of who you are and who you are becoming.
I will close today with this very powerful statement:
To HAVE the life you want, you must first BE the person who will DO the things to get it. And, that starts with a powerful and connected I AM statement.
What is your ‘I Am’ today?
