Did you know that one of the most misunderstood aspects of a true body transformation is consistency? You have to show up. Every day. And take actions that lead you closer to your goals. It’s that simple ( simple is not easy, it’s just simple). I can’t tell you how many people get tripped up on this step. Why?
They think that transformation requires perfection. They think they have to do a whole lot of unsustainable things 100% of the time in order to see results. That’s not how transformation happens. Actually, it happens one small step at a time. And it happens with consistency.
What does this mean? It means reframing your perception of what’s necessary and making things simpler.
Here are examples of unsustainable goals that, more often than not, will lead to failure:
- I will work out 6 days a week.
- I will stop eating carbs.
Here’s how we might reframe those goals to make them more attainable … and thus, more likely to yield results:
I will perform 1-2 strength workouts per week and 1-2 conditioning workouts (even if one or more of those workouts is at home, with the program prescribed by my coach ). I will earn my carbs with exercise. This means, eat a little more carbs in your meals following a workout, and a little less in all other meals during the day.
Here’s the thing. For most people, following these two simple principles, 80% of the time CONSISTENTLY will result in a major transformation in 6-12 months. Unfortunately, you’ve been inundated with bad information and indoctrinated by online gurus who’ve sold you a bill of goods and convinced you that in order to see results, you need to exercise 12 hours a week and starve yourself.
There’s a better way. A more successful way. Just pick a couple of things you can easily do EVERY WEEK, and do those things EVERY WEEK. Then build from there. You’ll be amazed. Less really IS more.
