It’s Monday again, how is your outlook today? Another day dragging into work, a bit stressed out that on where the time has gone, dreading the holiday season in the midst of the COVID restrictions. OR are you fired up to crush it at your job, looking for opportunity in the strange times that we are in, keeping your attitude in check when others are freaking out because you know that is the only thing that you really can control?
You can also be somewhere in between these two.
I wanted to share with you some Mental Monday strength insight and encouragement to succeed, not just today, but every day after as well. Consider this, frequently in our attempts to get better and live our best lives, we continue to give up. No judgement here, it happens, and usually for a reasons that we may not be aware of.
This causes us to get caught in a fearful state. Many of you just said, “I’m not afraid, he doesn’t know what he is talking about.” I understand, but please continue on.
How often do you play it safe, or small? This is fear in disguise. If you want to really make a change in your life, give up on playing small. But Coach that’s not me, I like my safe zone, I am comfortable here. I know. Me too. Buch check out this remarkable quote by Marianne Williamson:
“Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone, and as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
There is a lot of meaning in this quote but a basic takeaway is if you live strongly, confidently, and fully, you will affect and infect the people around you with goodness to be better also. How great is that?? However, If you never try and take great opportunities, or allow your dreams to become realities, you will never reach your true and full potential. This could be a career, your own business, a relationship, the physique you always wanted, anything. And the world will never benefit from what you could have achieved.
We ALL have a part to play.
So be IMpowered and voice your ideas, don’t be afraid to fail, and certainly don’t be afraid to succeed.
Here is the hardest one for most people: Give up your excuses! “It’s not about the cards you’re dealt, but how you play the hand.” ―Randy Pausch (look up his speech on YouTube it is inspiring and emotional, have a tissue ready). Think about the people you know or even see in the media that have succeeded. They all know that they are responsible for their life, no matter their starting point, weaknesses, and past failures. Realizing that you are responsible for what happens next in your life is both scary and exciting.
You have the power to accomplish all you desire. Like all the areas in life, diet, exercise, personal growth change that we discuss, this too begins and grows with small steps and becomes big change. So start today with one growth step. Move past a previous limiting belief you have by removing excuses and grow personally, professionally, and in health.
At the end of the day, it’s up to you to own your life; no one else will.
